Live-in Care: Round-the-Clock Support at Home

We are a live-in care provider in the UK which provides high-quality care services. Our comprehensive live-in care service includes the full spectrum of care from the standards of companionship to support with personal care, medication, shopping and household chores 24 hours a day.

Rather than placing your loved one in a nursing home, Quality Home Care can provide a live-in carer who will be with them 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We also provide more care for those with more complex needs such as Parkinson’s disease, MS, Strokes and dementia.

Remaining at home causes your loved ones less stress and confusion and enables them to stay in the familiar surroundings of their own home. It also means that couples can still live independently in their own homes and remain with each other.

Domiciliary Care & Pop-In Visits

We provide visiting care services in and around Cambridge. Our comprehensive service includes the full spectrum of care from the standards of companionship to support with personal care, medication, shopping and household chores.

We also provide more care for those with more complex needs such as Parkinson’s disease, MS, Strokes and dementia.

Our carers will visit you several times a day in your own home and provide bespoke care tailored to your needs and requirements.

More often than not, those who need to go into a care home can receive the care they require in the safety of their own home in the familiar surroundings, and if preferred, with the people they love around them. It is becoming more recognised that moving someone out of their familiar surroundings can significantly impact their emotional and physical needs. In-home care also causes less stress and confusion as a person's needs change over time. They are likely to make the transition a lot more easily. Another advantage is that couples can remain living independently in their own homes and remain with each other.

  • What is hospital to home care?

Our hospital to home care service allows an appropriate level of support to help older people return home after a hospital stay safely. Ensuring post-hospital discharge safety will only occur if the client can return home with the proper care in place. At Quality Home Care, we also recognise that people with a cognitive impairment such as dementia benefit from our hospital to home service as it reduces prolonged hospital stays. Our service facilitates such clients to return home as soon as possible; this reduces stress caused by unfamiliar surroundings where a hospital environment can cause added confusion or disorientation.

  • Who can use care after hospital discharge?

    • Currently, an in-patient seeking to return home immediately after being discharged.
    • People with a planned admission to hospital and who will require a level of support following discharge.
    • People in need of practical help or advice about returning home after leaving the hospital
    • People at home, struggling to adapt and needing extra support following a recent stay in hospital.

Whatever level of your needs, Quality Home Care provide a highly personalised care service tailor-made to meet your&nbvsp;needs.

  • How is hospital to home care arranged?

We can provide hospital discharge care at short notice on an emergency basis or following a scheduled hospital visit for a planned operation or treatment. Our specialist home care management team will work closely with you, your family and other healthcare professionals involved to ensure you can enjoy a safe and prompt return to the comfort and familiarity of your own home. This may include working alongside the discharge team, occupational therapists, social services, doctors and district nurses.

Quality Home Care can carry out an assessment of your needs in the hospital and/or upon your return home. We can then use this to agree with you and how you wish to be supported at home. This often involves help with recuperation, convalescence, and rehabilitation, for which our team of home carers can work closely with all professionals involved in your needs. Our home carers can also support you with all other aspects of living in your own home, including domestic help, companionship, medication support, personal care, specialist care for more complex conditions such as dementia care, Parkinson’s care or stroke care.

Post-Hospital Discharge Care

We assist with the transition and settling into your home following hospital discharge. We offer a range of flexible post-hospital release home care services, either pre-planned or at short notice.

Our hospital to home care service is flexible. Our care can often be provided on a short-term respite basis to help a client with rehabilitation and recovery until they can manage with a less involved home care service or without the need for any further input at all.

Support for Learning Disabilities

We provide personalised support for adults with learning disabilities, helping them to live full, independent and fulfilling lives in their own homes. Our care is built around the individual, with a focus on promoting choice, confidence and dignity at every step.

Our comprehensive service covers the full spectrum of support, from help with personal care, medication and household chores to assistance with shopping, budgeting, managing appointments and developing everyday life skills. We also support clients to take part in their local community, pursue hobbies and interests, and build and maintain friendships.

We understand that every person is different, so we work closely with clients, their families and other professionals to create a bespoke support plan tailored to individual needs, preferences and goals. Our carers are patient, consistent and experienced, and wherever possible we match clients with a regular team so that trusted, familiar relationships can develop over time.

Remaining in familiar surroundings helps people with learning disabilities feel secure and in control, and routine and consistency play a vital role in their wellbeing. Our support can be provided as regular visits or as live-in care, flexible enough to grow and change as needs change.

Specialist Dementia Care

We provide specialist dementia care in the comfort and security of your own home, supporting people at every stage of their journey with the condition. Our carers are trained to understand the challenges dementia can bring, and to respond with patience, compassion and respect.

Our care includes support with personal care, medication, meals, shopping and household chores, alongside companionship and gentle encouragement to keep up familiar routines, hobbies and interests. We also support those living with related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Parkinson's disease and the after-effects of strokes.

Familiar surroundings are especially important for people living with dementia. Moving someone out of their own home can increase confusion, anxiety and distress, whereas staying at home helps maintain a sense of identity, security and independence. Home care also adapts more easily as needs change over time, so there is less disruption as the condition progresses.

Our dementia care can be provided through regular visits or live-in care, with a consistent team of carers who get to know your loved one's life story, preferences and daily rhythms. We also offer reassurance and practical support to families, who can take comfort in knowing their loved one is safe and well looked after.

Palliative Care with Compassion and Dignity

We provide compassionate palliative and end-of-life care at home, so that your loved one can spend their final weeks, months or years in the comfort of familiar surroundings, with the people they love close by. Our priority is to ensure dignity, comfort and peace of mind at a deeply important time.

Our carers work alongside GPs, district nurses, hospices and other healthcare professionals to deliver care that is coordinated and centred on the individual's wishes. Our service includes support with personal care, medication, nutrition and comfort, as well as emotional support and companionship for both the client and their family.

Many people say they would prefer to spend their final days at home rather than in hospital or a care home. Being in a familiar, calm and loving environment can ease anxiety and help maintain dignity and quality of life. Families are also able to be present and involved in a way that suits them.

Our palliative care is flexible and can be arranged at short notice. It can be provided as visiting care, overnight support or 24-hour live-in care, and is adjusted as needs change, so you can feel confident that your loved one is supported with kindness and respect throughout.

Companionship & Domestic Support

We provide friendly, reliable companionship and practical domestic support to help people continue to enjoy life at home, independently and with confidence. For many, a regular visit from a caring and cheerful face can make a real difference to wellbeing, happiness and peace of mind.

Our service covers the full range of everyday needs, from conversation, company and accompanying you to appointments, social activities or days out, to help with shopping, meal preparation, laundry, light housework and keeping the home clean and tidy. We can also provide reminders for medication and help with correspondence and day-to-day routines.

Loneliness and isolation can have a significant effect on both emotional and physical health, particularly as people get older or after a change in circumstances. Regular companionship encourages activity, stimulates conversation and helps people stay connected to their community. Domestic support also takes the pressure off families, who can rest assured that their loved one has someone dependable to call on.

Our visits are entirely flexible, from a short call each week to several visits a day, and are tailored to your needs, interests and routine. Many clients begin with companionship and light domestic help, and we can easily increase the level of support should it be needed in the future.

General Elderly Care Support

We provide high-quality care and support for older people in their own homes, helping them to stay independent, comfortable and in control of their daily lives. Our carers deliver the full spectrum of care, from companionship to support with personal care, medication, mobility, meals, shopping and household chores.

We also support older people with more complex needs, including Parkinson's disease, MS, strokes, dementia and reduced mobility. Our carers visit you in your own home as often as you need, whether that is once a week or several times a day, and provide bespoke care tailored to your requirements.

More often than not, older people can receive the care they need in the safety of their own home rather than moving into a care home. Remaining in familiar surroundings, close to neighbours, friends and family, supports both emotional and physical wellbeing, and causes less stress and confusion as needs change over time. Couples can also remain together, continuing to live independently in the home they love.

For those who need more support, we also offer live-in care, with a dedicated carer on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whatever level of care is right for you or your loved one, we will work with you and your family to put the right plan in place.
